BS-RotaryGuest-dcx-pt-20Rotarian Travis Glatter, right, recently presented to the club on the topic of poverty and how hidden rules that exist within class structures can keep people from escaping a life of poverty. These hidden rules, he said, can also hinder middle class and wealthy people from understanding why those living in poverty make decisions that are counterproductive to achieving a better future. Glatter is the associate pastor for Military Street Baptist Church. Though his background is in engineering, his experience with the church has opened his eyes to how people live and why they make the decisions they do. With Glatter is Houlton Rotary President Scott Dionne.
