KEVIN SIMMONS, owner of the Caribou and Presque Isle Inn and Convention Centers has announced that Reiki Master Janice Santos will be available (by appointment) to provide Reiki sessions as an addition to the health and fitness programs currently available at both locations. BU-REIKI-CLR-dc1-Ar-20 On Tuesday, May 22, Santos will be offering a free introduction and demonstration at the Caribou site.

“Everyone can do Reiki — in fact, everyone does Reiki,” said Santos. “Every time you injure yourself and you instinctively put your hand on it, you are doing Reiki healing. The difference between the average person and a Reiki practitioner is the amount of energy flowing through their hands, training in hand positions, sensitivity to energy and being attentive to the client’s needs.”

Santos said Reiki heals on all levels — mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. It helps to support the body’s natural ability to heal itself and promotes healing quite often in subtle ways, helping to clean the body of toxins, balance the body’s energies, loosen blocked energy and promote a state of total relaxation.

“Being a cancer survivor myself,” said Simmons, “I find Reiki sessions to be very helpful. Given the complications that resulted from my treatments, having Reiki helps my body become restored and able to achieve its natural balance,” he added.

Santos will be available to provide Reiki sessions by appointment at both the Caribou and Presque Isle convention centers.

On Tuesday, May 22 a free Reiki demonstration will be held at the Caribou location from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  Those attending the evening demonstration will hear a presentation by Santos on Reiki, what it is and how it works. She will also lead the group in exercises that help to recognize and feel energy. Attendees will also be invited to experience Reiki healing during the limited time available.

A free Reiki demonstration will also be held at the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center on Wednesday, May 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
