Community night

AMELIA BATE, a kindergarten student, dressed up as Big Bird at the family reading night at Easton Elementary School on May 3.
On May 3, the Easton Elementary School hosted a “We are the People in Your Neighborhood” night. Guests from the community came in to read to the families. The Grouch’s trash can was in the hall with a street light and signs naming the hallways “Grover Gulch” and “Big Bird Boulevard” as well as others. The evening ended by all enjoying ice cream sundaes and honoring parent volunteers.

Mime and dancing
INSPIRED by Karen Montanaro, a dancer and mime, students from Easton Elementary School are pictured pretending to be mimes. Montanaro recently visited the school, performing for the children.
Students from Easton Elementary School enjoyed having Karen Montanaro dancing and doing a mime routine for them. She preformed for the older students teaching them to dance. Then she performed for the entire school in the afternoon. The students were mesmerized by her performance and are still talking about how much they enjoyed her visit. Her visit was made possible by a generous grant from the Aroostook Partners in the Arts.
