Pattee Page unit to meet at Veteran’s Memorial

    The Pattee Page Unit 187 American Legion Auxiliary of Easton will be holding a short service at the Veteran’s Memorial on the Easton High School lawn on Monday, May 28, at 10 a.m. to celebrate Memorial Day. Others may join with them with poems, readings or a song if they would like to.

Students of the Month

    Easton Elementary School has announced the Students of the Month for the month of April.

   Tia York

  is the second-grade daughter of Rodney York and Danielle Caron. 

She is a kind, hardworking young lady who has made great progress this year. 

She has a great attitude and gives her best effort in her school work.

   Shelliese Mullen

  is the fifth-grade daughter of Carl and Angela Mullen.

 She is a true friend to her classmates and sets high standards for herself in her studies.

She is a wonderful role model for her peers and is a proud member of the BEARS Club.

 

 

Mother’s Day Tea

    The Kindergarten Class at Easton Elementary School are all dressed pretty for their Mother’s Day Tea Party.     The Kindergarten Class at Easton Elementary School held a tea party for their moms and grandmothers to celebrate Mother’s Day. They sang and entertained the moms and grammies and also presented their moms with a homemade gift. They also enjoyed refreshments.


Alumni Banquet

    The Easton Alumni will be hosting an Alumni Banquet to honor the Class of 2012 on Thursday, June 7, at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served in the Easton Elementary School cafeteria and alumni are asked to bring a salad or dessert along with $5 for their dues. The classes of 1962 and 1987 will also be recognized. This year’s newsletter can be found online at www.eastonschools.org.

 

Happy Days Club

    Seventeen members of the Easton Happy Days Club traveled by school bus to Brookside Restaurant on Wednesday, May 9. They had a delicious lunch and dessert. After, they enjoyed shopping at the Amish store in Smyrna. Enjoying the ride were: Gerald and Vera Shaw, Ed and Alta Rattray, Marie Hewitt, Helen King, Jean Ann Ames, Elizabeth Martin, Ezalee Smith, Ida Doak, John and Nina Trask, Arlene Ladner, Clair and Eldora Carter, Carol Adams and Mrs. George Leach. The bus was driven by Dellas Adams. The Club’s next meeting will be Thursday, May 24, and will be a potluck dinner. Hope to see everyone there at the Manor at 11:30 a.m.

Town Office closed

    The Easton Town Office will be closed on Monday, May 28, in observance of Memorial Day.

 

Summer programs

    The Easton Recreation Department’s summer booklets are available at the Easton Town Office; only one copy per household please. If you would like a digital copy, visit eastonme.com.  

 

Rec calendar

    Wednesday, May 23 — Junior Activities 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hall. Gymnastics after school; bus will return to the elementary school by 4:30 p.m. Major League practice 5:30-6:45 p.m., numbers permitting.

    Thursday, May 24 — Happy Days at 11:30 a.m. in the Rec Room at the Manor. Patriotic crafts after school at the Hall until 4:15 p.m. Open to grades 1 and up.

    Friday, May 25 — Junior Activities 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hall. Senior kick-off-to-summer picnic at the Manor Rec Room at 11:15 a.m. The cost is $3.

    Monday, May 28 —  No recreation activities and Town Office is closed, due to holiday.

    Tuesday, May 29 — First Hershey practice after school until 4:15 p.m. at the elementary school. Pre-registration  is required. Open to youth up to age13 as of Dec. 31, 2012.
