    CARIBOU — A Viking and a Tiger have claimed top honors at the County Track and Field Championships held last Wedenesday in Caribou.

    Caribou’s Olivia Sleeper, for the third consecutive year, won the Howard Ludlow Award for scoring the most points (36) at the County meet. Morgan Swan (30.5) of Caribou was second, followed by teammate Sarae Sager (28.5), Presque Isle’s Erica Hemphill (26) and Katie Plourde (23) of Caribou.

    Fort Fairfield’s Andrew Lewis totaled the most points for the boys (38) two win the Emery Plourde Award. Matt Eager (34) of Presque Isle was second, followed by Caribou’s Brendan Wood (28) and Caleb Chapman (26.5). Logan Good (26) was fifth.

    The Caribou boy’s team won the meet with 225 points. Presque Isle (218), Fort Fairfield (93), Fort Kent (23) and Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics (13) followed.

    Local boys in the top three in each event are:

    100-meter dash — 1, Derik Michaud, CAR, 11.4 seconds; 2, Cody Charette, CAR, 11.7; and Good, PI, 11.7.

    200-meter dash — 1, Nick Pucci, CAR, 24.3; and 2 (tie), Michaud, CAR, 24.5 and Good, PI, 24.7.   

    400-meter dash — 1, Devin Schinhofen, PI, 54.7; 2 (tie), Pucci, CAR, and Clukey, PI, 55.8.

    800-meter run — 1, Eager, PI, 2:07.5; 2, Chapman, CAR, 2:12.6; and 3, Taylor Thibodeau, CAR, 2:13.9.

    Caribou won the girls’ meet with 304 points. Fort Fairfield (101.50) was second, followed by Presque Isle (85), Fort Kent (49.50), Washburn (29) and LCS/MSSM (3).
