East Grand names honor parts

    DANFORTH — Rick Benoit, principal at East Grand School, has announced the honor parts for the graduating Class of 2012.

Valedictorian

    Mitchell Emerson Bartlett has been named valedictorian. Bartlett, son of John and Mary Bartlett, of Weston is president of the senior class. He is also the president of the National Honor Society.
    Bartlett received the Phi Beta Kappa award his junior year of high school. He has also been recognized as student of the month. Bartlett is the 2012 Rotary Youth Merit Award nominee. Bartlett has been involved with soccer and basketball during his high school career. He has also been involved with Maine Youth Voices and student council. 
    Bartlett has been an active student with the Outdoor Education program all four years of high school. He will attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle in the fall to major in Criminal Justice.

Salutatorian

    Matthew Benjamin Plummer has been named salutatorian. Plummer, son of Jill and Alfred “Buck” Plummer of Brookton is the senior class secretary. He is also the vice president of the National Honor Society, which he has been a member for two years. Plummer has been on the honor roll for the past four years of high school. He was voted student of the month his junior and senior year. Plummer has been attending the Culinary Arts program at Region Two School of Applied Technology for the past two years.  Plummer has also spent many hours volunteering at the BrooktonForest City Community Center. He will attend University of Maine at Presque Isle in the fall to major in history.
