The Northern Maine Development Commission (NMDC), in cooperation with Women, Work, and Community (WWC), will be offering “one-on-one” social media training opportunities for tourism-related businesses that need a bit of assistance to build their presence in the social media world.
“A large number of small businesses are promoting their brands on Facebook, Twitter and other social media markets,” said Leslie Jackson of NMDC. “We have held social media training workshops in the past and a majority of the attendees thought a one-on-one environment would be very helpful. These one-on-one trainings will provide guidance from a trained professional to answer your individual questions and help get you started.”
The hour-long trainings will be held at the NMDC’s Caribou office on Friday, June 22 and at the Houlton Higher Education Center on Monday, June 25.
Due to space limitations, pre-registration is required to reserve your time slot. Time slots will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis. Cost for the training, including materials, is $20 per session.
To reserve your space or for more information, contact Jackson at ljackson@nmdc.org or call 207-498-8736.
Once registered, participants will be asked to fill out an application assessment form in order to determine individual needs and help prepare for the training.
