Annual Mapleton Daze plans moving along

Plans are moving right along for the Mapleton Daze festivities. There will soon be programs available at local businesses with a list of events and activities planned.
The Lions Club will be having its popular barbeque chicken dinner with all the fixings for $8 per person on Friday, June 29 at the Elementary School parking lot. The Methodist ladies will be selling slices of homemade pie and coffee, and the Baptist ladies will be selling homemade ice cream. There will be activities for the children and free bike raffles.
Everyone is invited to come to town for the annual fireworks display after dark!
A detailed schedule of events will appear in next week’s column.

CHRIS RAYMOND of Mapleton graduated May 12 from the University of Missouri with a Ph.D. in political science. He received his bachelor of arts in international studies from the University of Maine at Presque Isle in May of 2007. In July, Raymond will be moving from Columbia, Mo. to Louisiana where he will be starting his career as a professor at the University of New Orleans. Raymond is the son of David and Sara Raymond of Mapleton. Congratulations, Chris! |
Father’s Day Breakfast

THE CHAPMAN RIDGE RUNNERS Snowmobile and ATV Club will hold its second annual Father’s Day breakfast Sunday, June 17. The breakfast will be held at the clubhouse located at 94 Town Hall Road from 7-10:30 a.m. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-11 and children under six eat free. The menu will include pancakes, beans, muffins, bacon or sausage, eggs, toast, juice and coffee. For more information, call Sue Maynard at 764-1236.
