Skateboarding Dos and Don’ts
    As stated in HPD Corner in the past, the Town of Houlton provides safe areas for children to skateboard without causing danger to themselves or others while enjoying the sport of skateboarding. The town of Houlton provides the Skate Park for such recreation.
    Parents please advise your children to utilize the park for skateboarding. Skateboarding is not allowed on downtown sidewalks or in private parking lots without the consent of the owner.
    Residents and business owners should contact the Houlton Police Department if someone skateboarding is causing problems with the flow of foot traffic or obstructing the flow of a business’s right of way.
    Skateboarders have to obey the same rules as bicyclists. Violations will result in the temporary forfeiture of the skateboard and parents will be notified.
    The Houlton Police Department hopes  that by working together with parents and their children no matter what their recreational hobby that we can keep everyone safe.
