Middle school students lauded

    The Middle School Awards Ceremony was held on Thursday, June 14, at Houlton Junior-Senior High School. Principal Marty Bouchard presented the presented the Academic and Good Citizenshship Awards to Nathaniel Bouchard and Lexi Bartlett.
    The following special awards were presented as follows: Ervin Stone Advanced Math Award to Amira Abouleish; Morris Cassidy Mathematics Award to Lily Hanning; Technology Education Awards to Jonas Geiger and James Tapley; Consumer Science Award to Laura McEwen; Carol Jordan Reading Award to Morgan Nelson; Margaret Qualey English Award to June Choi; Donna Wheeler Social Studies Awards to Justin Queen and Samuel Astle; Vocal Music Award to Natalie Hill; Instrumental Music Award to Piper Flewelling; Combined Music Award to Connor Grant; Margaret Churchill Science Award to Megan Collett; and Art Award to Angel Melvin
    The Central Division Championship Awards were presented to the junior high baseball and softball teams. Mikayla Fitzpatrick received the Aroostook Teen Halo Award and Junior High Student Council Awards went to Chloe Davis, Hannah Foley, Owen Gallop, Josie Hare, Dylan Johnston, Devon Ledger, Caleb Tribou, Zachary Reece, Lexi Bartlett, Nathaniel Bouchard, Justin MacDonald, Makayla McGuire, Kelly McLaughlin, Evelyn Pratt, Sydney Richardson, Kaya Silliboy and Carey Suitter.  Band and chorus members received awards and Student of the Month awards went to Brooke Howland, Jacob Worthley, Tessa McCormick, Walker Webb, Stephanie Scott, Nicholas Cowperthwaite, Hannah Foley, Jeremy Fitzpatrick, Renee Sirois, Aaron Sewell, Lily Hanning, Natalie Hill, Morgan Nelson, Christopher Kenney, June Choi, Evelyn Pratt, Rachelle Provost and Desiree Shannon.  Kate Newman received an award as a member of the Civil Rights Team.   Receiving Wall of Fame Awards were Taylor Barnes, Emma Drew, Allix Hanson, Michael Holmes, Devon Ledger, Ares Rattray, Sydney Richardson, Dalton Trahan, Jordan Violette,  and Jacob Worthley.
