PRESQUE ISLE – Gary D. Fields,  74, passed away at Maine Veterans Home in Caribou, June 27, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 1, 1937, in Westfield, ME, son of Delmar and Mabel (Libby) Fields.
    Gary was a member of VFW, American Legion, DAV and Elks P.I. Gary loved to read, fish and helping others. Gary served in U.S. Navy from Dec. 1955 – Nov. 1959, receiving an honorable discharge. He worked for WT Grant in Presque Isle and in Conn. He then worked in Conn. as a machist until his retirement.
    He is survived by daughter, Deanna and Scott Garrison, two grandchildren, Michael and Katie of Berlin, Conn.; two step-children, Bill Renock of Bristol, Conn., Laurie Beaudoin of Middletown, Conn., and their children; brothers, Roland and wife, Gladys of Middlefield, Conn., Russell and wife, Nancy of Camp Verde, Arizona, James and wife Barabara of Escondido, Calif.; sister, Betty Henderson of Presque Isle; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Lona Brewer; nephew, Brian Fields; niece, Tania Graham.
    He was predeceased by Opal Graham, Ariz.; Bernard (Biff) Fields, Ariz.; and Orville Fields, Norwick, Conn.
