GOODE, Merle Eugene, 84, PRESQUE ISLE, July 3, 2012. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Homes, Presque Isle.

    PRESQUE ISLE – Merle Eugene Goode passed away at home on July 3, 2012. Merle was born at home in Presque Isle on April 1, 1928, son of the late Fred & Florence (Sharpe) Goode. He was born again in 1942, baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1952, and healed of a physical illness three days later.
    Merle attended Full Gospel Assembly in Presque Isle for thirty-five years where he served as a Deacon for seven years, later attending Presque Isle Wesleyan Church and faithfully attended Christian Life Assembly for twenty-two years.
    Merle worked as an auto mechanic for forty-two years, twelve of those years at International Harvester, ten years at Northern Maine Transport, and later operated his own business “Merle’s Garage” for twelve years.
    Merle loved to play his guitar, harmonica and electric horn in his church orchestra. He was delighted to sing with his wife, Roberta and gather with friends for an evening of singing gospel songs.
    Survived by his wife, Roberta (Weade-Jewett) of 31 years; five children, Wayne Goode of Presque Isle; Brenda Henderson and her husband, George of Belfast, New York; Joel Goode and his wife, Sherry of Payson, Arizona; Margaret Stetson and her husband, Asa of Blaine, and Timothy Goode of Gorham; three step-daughters, Carolyn Pryor and her husband, Eddie,  Wanda Forsyth and her husband, Dale, all of Centreville, NB; Norma Jewett of Woodstock, NB;  six grandchildren; two step-grandsons; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Goode of Jamestown, New York; several nieces and nephews.
    Predeceased by his first wife of 33 years, Viola M. (McEntee) Goode; his parents, Fred & Florence Goode; brothers, Glen and Richard; an infant brother; and a sister, Mary.
    Friends called 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2012, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, with Reverends Larry Palmer and David McIntyre officiating. Interment was at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle.
