New Britain, Conn. – Ronald F. Violette, 80, of New Britain died on Saturday, July 7, 2012, with his beloved family by his side. He was born in Caribou, Maine and has lived in New Britain for over 60 years. He was the son of the late Fred and Oveline (Nadeau) Violette, graduated in the Caribou High School class of 1949. He retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft after 37 years of service.
He was an active member of St. Jerome Church where he was an active volunteer, and served on the 50th Anniversary Committee. With his wife, he also volunteered for many years in the kitchen committee at St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
Ronald was a gentle and kind man who loved to help anyone who needed it but most of all he loved being with his family and friends.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife and life partner of 61 years, Ursula Paula (Babin) Violette; his beloved children, Ronald Thomas Violette of Bristol; Denise Gaszek and her husband, Bernard of Berlin; and Lauren Gallagher and her husband, Robert of Plymouth. He leaves six beloved grandchildren who where his pride and joy as well as three precious great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Darlene Theriault and Bernice Ouellette both of Bristol, and he was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Lister.
He leaves many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Rd. New Britain, CT. Burial will be private. The New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain is serving the family. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jerome Church.
