EASTON’S NEW LOGO — Town Manager Jim Gardner holds up Easton’s new logo, featuring a farm scene and potato factory which depicts the community to a ‘T’. The town, which was established in 1865, has grown and prospered over the years, thanks to the many hardworking farm families and food processing plant workers who’ve put in long hours to bring quality products to market.

EASTON — Folks returning home for the annual Field Days celebration may have noticed the town has a new logo, which town officials began using on letterhead and elsewhere earlier this year.
The logo features a farm scene with a tractor, potato barrels and a factory resembling McCain Foods in the background. It notes the town was established in 1865.
“It embodies the saying ‘In Easton, small town values are a way of life.’ We’ve added it to our updated website, www.easton.me.us,” said Town Manager Jim Gardner, who spoke of the many services the new site includes.
“It’s a blast when you get in and can do a lot, from checking the events calendar and town’s history to getting information on registering vehicles and ATVs to data on how to apply for a copy of a birth certificate,” said Gardner.
He credited the town clerk for keeping the site current.
“Cheryl Clark runs and manages the website. She does a great job,” said Gardner.
Gardner said there’s also a photo gallery of activities in Easton, including Paul Cyr’s photos of an Amish barn raising.
“It’s a good interactive site. There’s a bulletin board, calendar, you can see when the Hall is available. Visitors can interact with town management. The rec schedule is on it,” he said.
He said the logo, designed by Vicky Cummings of VC Print in Caribou, reflects what he and community members think of the town and its citizens.
“It signifies the way we are. In Easton, small town values are a way of life. It’s been a year in the making, but now that we have it, we’re putting it to use on letterhead, the website and everywhere we can to promote Easton as a great place to live,” said Gardner.
