Costain, Betty May, 80, July 8, 2012. A funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Fairfield Baptist Church in Fairfield, followed by the committal service. A celebration of life will be held after the committal service.
BENTON – Betty May Costain passed away peacefully at Maine Medical Center late Sunday night, July 8, 2012 at the age of 80. She was born Betty May Stewart on July 9, 1931 in Linneus to Harry Stewart and Gladys (Mclean) Stewart where she spent her childhood.
She graduated Ricker Classical Institute in Houlton, Maine. She was a member of Fairfield First Baptist Church where she had been a deacon, worked at the Lambs Clothes Closet, was a member of Everywoman’s Missionary Fellowship, Keenagers, and a member of The Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Costain; two children, son, Robert S. Costain and daughter-in-law Valerie (Pottle) Costain, and daughter Sherry Gray and son-in-law Gary Gray; five grandchildren, Joshua Costain, Benjamin Costain, Melissa Delaware and her husband, Wayne Delaware JR, Matthew Gray and wife, Cristina Gray, and Marc Gray; five great-grandchildren, Jaden Costain, Skylar Delaware, Sophia Delaware, Zane Gray, and Elsie Gray; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her sisters, Lois Bither, Opal Fletcher, and Linda Young.
Visiting hours were held Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Fairfield First Baptist Church in Fairfield, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Fairfield First Baptist Church in Fairfield, followed by the committal service. There will be a celebration of life at the church following the committal service.
