MARS HILL — Maine native Darrell Adams has announced his candidacy for House District 6. The northern Maine district includes Blaine, Bridgewater, Easton, Fort Fairfield, Mars Hill and Westfield.
“As a pharmacist and life-long Mainer, I’ve seen firsthand the struggles facing small business owners and residents of northern Maine and I’m committed to doing something about it,” said Adams, a Democrat. “No Maine logger who works hard and plays by the rules should be struggling to put food on his table, but many are. No Maine family should lose their home because of a health crisis and uncontrollable medical bills; too many already have. That’s why I am running for office. I will work hard to fight for Maine families and ensure that the interests of northern Maine are heard in Augusta.”

Adams, who grew up in Presque Isle, has worked as a pharmacist for 38 years. If elected he’s committed to focusing on sustainable job creation, reducing the cost of health insurance, and increasing access to trade schools and community colleges in rural and northern Maine.
“It’s time we make Maine’s economy work for working people again. For too long, people in my district have watched as our jobs have been shipped overseas or outsourced to our neighbors just across the border,” said Adams. “It’s not fair and it’s not right. It’s time we send a strong voice to represent us in Augusta — one that will put ideology and divisive politics aside to do what’s best for the people of northern Maine. I am that voice.”
Adams resides in Mars Hill with his wife of 25 years, Lorette.
