Children to learn about solar system during walk that’s out of this world

CARIBOU, Maine — Featuring fun of planetary proportions, officials with the Caribou Public Library have coordinated an entertaining educational experience for school-aged children and their families.

On Friday, Aug. 3, The County’s famed astronomy educator Larry Berz of the Maine School of Science and Mathematics and the Francis Malcolm Science Institute will be leading the third annual Solar System Peppercorn Model Walk starting at the north door of the Caribou Middle School.

The event aims to engage students with an understanding about the enormity of the solar system and learn the layout of the planets in a way that actively involves the participants.

There’s even a surprise waiting for kids at the end of the galaxy, but it’s too out of this world to spoil the secret.
