Geraldine M. (Alward) a.k.a. “Big Gram” Gogan, 88, went home to be with her Lord on Aug. 14, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born March 28, 1924 at Hodgdon, the daughter of Dell and Beatrice (Howard) Alward. She was raised by beloved Uncle Vet and Aunt Faye Alward.
She loved the Lord, her husband, and her family with all her heart. She loved music and worshipping the Lord. She attended the Houlton Full Gospel Church. She was the loving and devoted wife to Robert Gogan for 66 years. Together, they pastored the Brookton and Danforth Pentecostal Churches for 25 years.
Geraldine is survived by her husband, Robert Gogan; three children, Deborah Bickford and her husband, John, Michael Gogan and his wife, Pamela, and Rebekah Bickford, all of Houlton; seven grandchildren, John, Crystal, Samantha, Michael Jr., Tabitha, Robert “Bo”, and Heather; eleven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Malachi, Keven Jr., Mikayla, Christian, Raistlin, Tristin, Dominic, Anthony, Cody, and Courtney; her brother, Eugene Alward; two sisters, Maxine Alward of Southington, CT, Ruth Williams of Houlton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, daughter Joanna Rae Gogan, brothers, Earl, Lewis, Clayton and Dana, sisters, Elloise and Gwen.
Friends called at the Full Gospel Assembly Church on Friday at 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Gogan, Rev. Kevin Hatch, and Rev. Sterling Lawrence officiating.
