Hunter Safety Course offered
A Hunter Safety Course will be held Sept. 16, Sept. 23 and Sept. 30 from 1-4 p.m. each Sunday at the Island Falls Fish and Game Club on Mattawamkeag Lake.
The course is sponsored by the Island Falls Free-Wheelers Club.
Students ages 10-14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the full program. The maximum of students the class can hold is 25.
Instructor for the course is Peter Blood. The course will consist of half book work and the other half hands-on experience.

Archery, crossbow safety course
The Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Hunter Education Archery and Crossbow course will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church on 46 Court St., Houlton.
An archery license or course is required to attend the crossbow course.
