Va Jo Wa hosts senior golf tournament

    ISLAND FALLS — The Upper St. John Valley Senior Golf Association held a tournament Aug. 22 at Va Jo Wa Golf Club, with 87 golfers participating.
    The overall winner was Stuart Kelley, a member at Va Jo Wa, who posted a score of 78.
    Division winners were as follows: A gross: first, Dave MacFarlane, Edmunston, 79; second, Gary Greene, Covered Bridge, 79; and third, Dan Hotham, Presque Isle, 79. A net: first, Bob MacFarlane, Edmunston, 73; second, Dave Plourde, Edmunston, 76; and third, Greg Cyr, Fort Kent, 76.
    B gross: first, Kelley; second, Tom Davidson, Aroostook Valley, 81; and third, Jenness Gushee, Va Jo Wa, 82. B net: first, Wilson Patterson, Covered Bridge, 70; second, Peter Curley, Covered Bridge, 72; and third, Mark Anderson, Houlton, 74.
    C gross: first, Greg Campbell, 81; second, Roland Nadeau, Edmunston, 86; and third, Fred Putnam, Houlton, 86. C net: first, Keith Larlee, Edmunston, 71; second, Dave Scullion, Portage Hills, 72; and third, Gerald Culberson, Covered Bridge, 74.
