NELIGH, Audrey L. (Gallop), 82, PRESQUE ISLE & HOPE, INDIANA, at Presque Isle, September 7, 2012. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral services. Arrangements are in care of Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
PRESQUE ISLE & HOPE, INDIANA – Audrey L. (Gallop) Neligh went home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2012, at a Presque Isle nursing facility, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 7, 1930, in Thomas, Connecticut, the daughter of Henry and Dorthea (Wright) Gallop.
Audrey was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School and was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Fort Fairfield and Presque Isle. She was employed for a number of years at the former Loring Air Force Base, Limestone, as a bookkeeper. Audrey took great pride in her family. She married her husband, Paul Neligh in August of 1956. She moved to Bergston Air Force Base, Austin, Texas. Audrey was involved with the Officers Wives Club and also had a great love for animals.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Paul; and one brother, Wallace.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Ron Shepard; her son, James Neligh; two stepsons, Donald and Douglas Neligh; brother, Lawrence Gallop of Fort Fairfield; many grandchildren. She also leaves behind a very special companion, Jim Donnelly, who she loved to go fishing with and her favorite place was the lake were they spent their summers.
In keeping with Audrey’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Paul at Hope Moravian Cemetery, Hope Indiana. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
