DOUGHTY, Geneva H., 88, FORT FAIRFIELD, at Presque Isle, September 7, 2012. Arrangements are in the care of Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.

    FORT FAIRFIELD – Geneva H. DoughtyARSH Geneva Doughty OB 2 88, wife of the late Ralph K. Doughty, was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday afternoon, September 7, 2012, at a Presque Isle nursing facility, after an extended period of declining health. She was born October 14, 1923, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of John A. and Caroline (Simmons) Fraser.
    Geneva attended the Fort Fairfield Strickland Road Country School and the Fort Fairfield High School, and was married to Ralph K. Doughty on April 5, 1947. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, Geneva worked for a number of years at McCain Foods, Easton, and also babysat for Richard and Mary Ruth Nichols. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and playing her guitar. She also enjoyed children, especially babies, and had been a member of the Fort Fairfield United Pentecostal Church for over sixty years.
    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Doughty was predeceased by one son, Michael F. Doughty in 1979; her husband, Ralph on April 5, 2001; six brothers, Orren, Colby, Willard, John, Lee and Harold Fraser; three sisters, Cora Clark, Phebe Flagg and Madeline Churchill.
    She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald K. and Linda Doughty, Kevin R. and Teresa Doughty, all of Fort Fairfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Rev. Gaylen Doody of Caribou, Ronda K. and Larry Satterwhite of Henderson, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
    Friends called Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the United Pentecostal Church, 33 Currier Rd., Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Wilbur and the Rev. Ronald Doughty co-officiating. Interment took place at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments was held at the church after the interment service. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Geneva to the Presque Isle Nursing Home, 162 Academy St., Presque Isle, 04769 or to the United Pentecostal Church, 33 Currier Rd., Fort Fairfield, 04742. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield.
