Houlton Rec announces Halloween fun; general activities; ice skating hours

    The Houlton Recreation Department will be sponsoring the following events:

    Halloween balloon show and bounce house

 

This Halloween Party will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 1-3 p.m.  This year, Mainely Balloons will be performing a show at 1:30 p.m. for all children in attendance. Also, there will be Halloween Carnival Games and a Bounce House for the children.
    Toddlers through grade 6 are invited to attend this fun afternoon. Cost is $4 per person for ages 2 and older. Parent must accompany children to the event. All proceeds will go to the “Just For Kids” Playground Improvement Project.  For more information, call the rec at 532-1310.

 

Junior high dance

 

A junior high School dance for grades 7-8 will be held on Friday from 7-10 p.m. Cost is $5 per student.  All proceeds go towards the “Just for Kids” Playground Improvement Project.

Pumpkin pinata making

The Pumpkin pinata making will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. with Mainely Piantas! Children in grades preK through 6 are invited to this fun activity. Cost is $15 per student and each person will take home a pumpkin piñata! Call today to register at 532-1310.

Men’s open gym

Men’s open gym will be held each Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-9 p.m. Cost is $2 per person.  Adults must be 18 years of age or older and out of high school to participate.

Halloween Sneakn’ In Science Fun

The Houlton Recreation Department will be sponsoring a Creepy Halloween Sneakn’ In Science program next week.          Come see (and maybe hold) a real live bug as big as your hand that hisses when you touch it!          Make some really gross slime and learn some exciting experiments you can do with your leftover candy!
Children between the ages of 7-12 years are invited to this program.
Choose either Tuesday, Oct. 23 or Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 6-7 p.m. at the Houlton Rec Center. Cost is $10 per child, limit 12 children.

Millar Civic Center opens for the season

The John Millar Civic Center will be hosting public skating this Friday, Oct. 19 from 6-9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20 from 1-4 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 21 from 1-4 p.m.
Skate rentals are available and there will be food, drink, and music for hours.
