Center hours

The Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. and Saturdays from noon-4 p.m. The facility is closed Sundays. Area residents are welcome to come and utilize our walking track.

Men’s 30-and-over basketball

 

The men’s 30-and-over basketball is under way and meets Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m.-noon. This program is designed for gentlemen 30 years of age and over and meets at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center gym. There is a $3 per player fee on Sundays.

T.I.O.S.S. Senior and Adult Series

Outings and seminars to help adults and seniors fall into shape and keep mentally sharp are offered through the recreation department. Some of the trips scheduled are a guided day trip to Deboullie Oct. 20. The fee is $25, bring a bag lunch. On Oct. 25-26, an overnight trip to Bangor’s Penobscot Theatre Company to see the show “Becky’s New Car” is planned. The fee is $160, which includes transportation, lunch, the show, hotel room and continental breakfast.

Grades 1-2 basketball

Grade 1 and 2 basketball is being offered in two sessions and meets on Monday and Wednesdays from 3-4:30 p.m. Session one meets beginning this week through Nov. 14 and session two meets Nov. 26-Dec. 19. Pre-registration is required.

Halloween volunteers sought

The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is currently seeking volunteers to assist with the annual Halloween Party slated for Wednesday, Oct. 31. Parks and recreation department officials are seeking individuals, businesses or organizations that would be interested in providing a game or activity during the two-hour event. Inquires should be made at the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department office at 493-4224.

Fall Fun Festival

The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Fall Fun Festival on Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. for youths up to grade 6. There will be costume judging, fun and games. This event will be held at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center.
