Co-ed volleyball

Co-ed volleyball for individuals high school age and over will be held at the Fort Fairfield Community Center gymnasium every Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. beginning Oct. 21. Play is informal with teams being selected each night from all those in attendance.  

Adult basketball

The Fort Fairfield Community Center gymnasium is open for drop-in adult basketball (18 and over) on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 22. Teams are selected each night from all those in attendance. If there is sufficient interest amongst the players, an adult league may be established to include scheduled games.     

Pee wee and youth basketball

Pee wee basketball for boys and girls in grades 2 and 3 and youth basketball for boys and girls in grades 4-6 will get underway on Saturday, Nov. 3 with basketball clinics being held at the community center gymnasium. The youth basketball clinic for grades 4-6 will be from 9-10:30 a.m. followed by a pee wee basketball clinic for grades 2-3 from 10:30 a.m.-noon.

After the clinic on Nov. 3, teams will be selected from all those who have registered for the programs.  Games or practices will be held Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings for the youth players in grades 4-6 and Saturday afternoons and Tuesday evenings for the pee-wee players in grades 2 and 3. Both programs will continue play through the end of January 2013.

Registration forms will be available at school or at the Community Center starting Oct. 29. There is no charge to participate. The basketball programs rely on volunteer coaches, so if any adults are interested in helping to coach one of the pee-wee or youth teams this season, please call 472-3882.

Indoor exercise

The Fort Fairfield Community Center gymnasium is open for the season to the public for walking, jogging, and exercise Monday through Friday from 6 a.m.-noon beginning Oct. 22 (except on holidays and Nov. 5 and 6).

Uniform return

The department are missing several uniforms that have not yet been returned by participants from programs and activities held this past year. Those who still have uniforms that belong to the parks and recreation department need to return them either to the Fort Fairfield Community Center or the town office.
