    High school soccer teams are playing their last regular season games before the playoffs begin next week. Teams are still awaiting their standings in their respective classes, though some squads may not move from where they are seeded when the final Heal Point standing sare released on Sunday.
    On Monday, Jimmy Fitzpatrick rallied the Houlton Shiretowners to a 3-2 overtime victory against visiting Madawaska.
    Madawaska opened the scoring when Ethan Wetmore scored off a Darin Jandreau setup at 21:02 of the first half and then the Owls took a 2-0 lead nine minutes into the second half when Ian Lee scored off a penalty kick.

    Fitzpatrick then picked up an Isaac Cone pass and scored just eight minutes after the Owls’ last tally. Fitzpatrick’s second goal came with 18:55 left in the game. He then scored the game-winner from a Kyle Bouchard assist at the 3:29 mark of overtime.
    Houlton goalie Kole Buzzeo stopped seven of 14 shots faced, while Madawaska’s Tim Deschenes blocked 11 of 14 shots.
    At Madawaska, the Houlton Lady Shires picked up a 3-1 victory after Katie Condon scored unassisted to break a 1-1 halftime score.
    Houlton’s Alana Pratt added a goal and assist, while Bre Longstaff tallied a goal. Goalie Marina Cameron stopped four of nine shots on net.
    For Madawaska, Alexis Levesque set back 14 of 25 shots faced.
    Also on Monday, the East Grand Vikings overpowered Highview Christian Academy, 12-2 behind junior captains Neil Noble, Logan Crone and Kenneth Winarski, who all scored three goals apiece. Josh Jones, Jake Davis and Kyle Gilman capped the scoring for East Grand.
    Noble added two assists, while Crone and Davis both had one assist each. Goalie Alex Brittain combined with Crone and Philip Farley made six saves on nine shots.
    For Highview, Josiah Jurczak had four saves on 19 shots faced.
    Last Saturday, the Southern Aroostook Community School soccer teams were both in action in Dyer Brook, as they hosted Woodland.
    In girls’ action, Desirae Dubois scored twice for the Lady Warriors in their 4-0 win, while Cassidy Lyons and Beth Bishop each added a goal, with all four goals in first-half action.
    On the boys’ side, Woodland edged SACS, 3-2 when Damon Lincoln, scored the game-winner with 14:24 left in the second half, to finish off a hat trick.
    Cameron Landry and Cody Lassonde scored for SACS, while Mason Caron added an assist. Goalie Austin White made nine saves.
    For Woodland, goalie James Lee had seven saves, including a late second-half breakaway challenge by Southern Aroostook.
    At Lee last Friday, Houlton’s Bouchard recorded a hat trick and assisted on another goal to give the Shiretowners a 6-1 win.
    Fitzpatrick scored two goals and Gage Hunt added another, while  Brandon Ward had two assists.
    Last Friday at Fort Fairfield, the Lady Tigers overtook Katahdin, 10-3.
    Katahdin’s Merry had a pair of goals and Stevens had the other one.  Mykayla Patterson made 12 saves on 29 shots.
    On the boys’ side, Katahdin lost to Fort Fairfield, 8-1.
    The Hodgdon/GHCA soccer teams hosted Houlton last Thursday, with both Houlton squads coming away with victories.
    In the girls’ game, Emily Mooers’ three-goal effort, along with Pratt’s two goals led the Lady Shires to an 8-2 win.
    Jessy Dickison, Sam Keegan and Cameron all scored a single tally in Houlton’s win.
    Rachel Harmon and McKensie Palmer each scored for Hodgdon/GHCA.
    On the boys’ side, Houlton’s Fitzpatrick tallied two of his three goals in the second half, as Houlton overtook Hodgdon/GHCA, 4-0.
    Brandon Ward added a tally off a Bouchard assist for Houlton.
    For Hodgdon, Blake Woods and Jonah Sarchfield handled the work between the goal posts.
    In other action, the Southern Aroostook girls and boys hosted Greenville in Dyer Brook last Thursday.
    The girls fell 3-0, with Jessica Nye making 12 saves on 15 shots faced for SACS, while the boys were overpowered 9-0, as White made 13 saves.
    At Woodland last Thursday, the East Grand girls picked up a 3-1 win over the Dragons behind Bayleigh Rowe’s two goals and a single tally by Felicia Cowger. Goalie Chelsea Winiarski had eight saves on 13 shots.
    Woodland’s Clay White scored the game-winning tally with 23:35 left in the game to give the Dragon boys a 3-2 victory.
    Alex Stoddard and Winiarski each scored a goal, with Crone adding an assist for East Grand. Brittain stopped 10 of 17 shots.
    Last Wednesday, the Ashland boys and girls team defeated Katahdin in Stacyville, as the Hornets took a 5-0 win, with Katahdin’s Cody Brownlee making 15 saves on 22 shots. The Ashland girls defeated Katahdin,  11-1.
    Meagan Merry scored for Katahdin, while goalie Courtney Stevens stopped six of 20 shots faced in net.
    To start the week, last Tuesday, the East Grand girls and boys were toppled by host Easton.
    The Bears topped the Vikes, 8-1, with Crone scoring for East Grand and goalie Brittain stopping 10 of 23 shots faced.
    In girls’ action, Easton picked up a 5-3 win.
    Shaunna Beaudoin scored twice for East Grand and added an assist on Felicia Cowger’s tally. Goalie Winiarski had 25 saves on 31 shots on net.
