LIMESTONE — With 113 votes more than her next leading opponent, Marilyn King secured a selectpeople seat that expires in June of 2013 and, with 49 votes over his opponent, Thomas Albert also has a seat on the board with a term that expires in June, 2014.
In total, 263 votes were cast during the Oct. 23 election.
Other candidates vying for the term expiring in June, 2013 were William Tucker with 38 votes, Melissa Devoe with 37 votes and Wendell Ricker with 28 votes. King received 151 votes.
With less distance between candidates, Albert received 153 votes with opponent Reed Nonken receiving 104.
Albert and King were slated to be sworn in last night, during a special town meeting for voters to authorize or disallow the selectpeople to execute and deliver a municipal quitclaim deed on tax map 5 lot 1 to the Maine School of Science and Mathematics as well as voting on whether or not to issue a quitclaim deed without covenant to Randall Brooker conveying a right of way only across tax map 4 lot 47 to access Map 4 Lot 26.
