Community support keeps arts alive

To the editor:
    The residents of Houlton should be justifiably proud of its thriving cultural arts environment, perhaps best showcased by the exceptional performing arts program at Houlton High School. As part of our mission to promote all of the cultural arts in our community, the Southern Aroostook Cultural Arts Project and the Houlton Community Arts Center sponsored the Boston Robinson Ballet Company’s production of “The Nutcracker” on the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
    We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those community members who contributed to this event’s success. To those who gave donations, purchased tickets and provided food and beverage items for SACAP’s refreshment table, we are extremely grateful that you cared enough to help bring this Christmas classic to Houlton. The Southern Aroostook Cultural Arts Project and the Houlton Community Arts Center are pleased to be an integral part of this community’s cultural life and look forward to presenting other equally exciting events in the coming year.
    Thank you again to the entire community for making this production a success. Your support of SACAP is the key to continuing to create a flourishing environment for the arts in greater Houlton.
