Vice President Joseph R. Biden, right, administered the oath of office. King replaces retiring Republican Sen. Olympia J. Snowe who served in the Senate for 18 years. The following day, King announced the opening of six state offices. Located in Biddeford, Presque Isle, Auburn, Portland, Augusta and Bangor, the current offices have been inherited from Snowe and will serve to directly meet the needs of constituents. The Presque Isle office is located at 169 Academy St., Suite A.
