A wee bit rusty in your math? Like treasure hunts without getting hurt, wet, cold or hungry? Like the books of a few years ago where the reader chose the endings?
Math Quest has a series of
new books by David Glover which could fit the bill. We tried “The Museum of Mysteries”, finding it intriguing to say the least. Traipsing through a museum searching for the “Golden Hoard” was an exercise worth trying on a cold snowy day and a lot of fun. Clever math questions, thoughtful clues and, of course, the definitions of number words are given in the back- just in case you might have forgotten Roman Numerals.
This is a great book for parents and precocious fourth graders and above to read together. Check out others in this series and the many new books donated to the Children’s Library by churches, civic groups, and individuals this past Christmas season.
