MACDONALD, Dana H., 85, OCALA, FL & PRESQUE ISLE, ME, at Florida, January 2, 2013. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted later in the spring at Gracelawn Cemetery in Auburn.

American Flag ColorOCALA, FL & PRESQUE ISLE, ME – Dana H. MacDonald, 85, died January 2, 2013, at an Ocala Hospital. He was born June 6, 1928, in Presque Isle, the son of Hedley and Velma (Grass) MacDonald.
    Dana served in the US Navy during WW II. Following the war, he and his new wife, Marion, moved back to Presque Isle where he graduated from the Aroostook School of Commerce. They then moved to Auburn where he was employed at Bates Mill for a short time before becoming employed by the US Postal service for many years. After retiring from the postal service, they made their home in Ocala, FL. Dana enjoyed hunting, skiing and was an avid golfer.
    He is survived by his wife, Marion (Marston) MacDonald of Ocala, FL; a sister, Pearl Carmichael of Presque Isle; two brothers, Elwood MacDonald of Bradenton FL, and Laconia, NH, and Rev. Dr. Galen “Joe” MacDonald of Livingston, TX; and several nieces, nephews and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
    Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Gary MacDonald; and a sister, Maxine Duncan.
    A graveside service with military honors will be conducted later in the spring at Gracelawn Cemetery in Auburn. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, ME 04769.
