All-Aroostook Music Festival in Houlton this weekend
The All-Aroostook Instrumental Festival will take place this weekend at Houlton High School. This festival will feature students from various middle and high schools from Aroostook County coming together to prepare for a concert that will take place on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. in the Houlton Community Arts Center.

    Seventy-six middle school band students will be performing with guest conductor Maris Weinstein, instrumental music educator at Warsaw Middle School, Pittsfield. Sixty-seven high school band students will be under the direction of Ben Potvin, instrumental music educator at Kennebunk High School.
    The concert itself is open to the public and will be held at 2 p.m. in the Houlton Community Arts Center. Tickets are $3 for students/senior citizens, $4 for adults and $10 per family (parents and siblings only, not to exceed five tickets). Tickets may be purchased at the door. SAD 70 hearing set for Jan. 22
A public hearing on the district’s withdrawal from AOS 48 is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at Hodgdon High School.
