Editor’s note: The following article is a synopsis written by staff members and volunteers of the Cary Public Library highlighting one of the suggested reading books, as determined by their staff.
Doubting you have trouble naming your colors, still today we recommend “Pete the Cat, I Love My White Shoes” by James Dean and Eric Litwin.
One of a set of 3 books discovered and shared by a local elementary teacher, it is fun, interactive, colorful, and just right for reading to pre-schoolers through 3rd grade. Pete has a positive attitude and budding singers may just sing along with him. Oh, yes, Pete has a wonderful shade of blue-black fur with golden eyes; look him up in the jFIC, Lit, P section of the children’s library. The other two books in this fun series are “Pete the Cat and His 4 Groovey buttons” and “Pete the Cat Saves Christmas”.
The Cary Public Library is open Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 532-1302.
