CARIBOU — The Caribou Assembly of God invites the public to help celebrate the grand opening of their newly constructed Activity Center on Sunday, Feb. 10.
The daylong activities will begin with Sunday school at 9:30, followed by church service at 10:30. A ribbon cutting will follow at the Activity Center at noon. There will then be a community meal with no cost to the public. After the meal, the church will conduct a dedication ceremony and the open house will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.
Construction of the 7,740 square foot Activity Center has been a work in progress since the spring of 2011. The center incorporates green technology required by the state of Maine building codes, including air conditioning, insulation, kitchen equipment, fire protection and handicap accessibility.
The building includes a great room for dinners and receptions, modern kitchen, youth room, seven classrooms, conference room, nursery and offices for the church’s pastor, youth pastor and secretary.
“It is our goal to use this building to impact our community through our children and youth specifically,” Caribou Assembly of God Pastor Tony Searles commented about the center. “As we approach the dedication ceremony for the Activity Center, I see it as a dream come true for many people through the last 30 years at the Caribou Assembly of God.”
The Activity Center is located at the corner of Sweden and Summer Streets in Caribou. For more information, contact the Caribou Assembly of God at 493-3158, or visit their website at caribouag.org. The church also may be found on Facebook.
