LIMESTONE — It’s a bit colder now than it was when the new Rising Hill long-term care facility in Limestone broke ground in September, but despite consistently below-zero temperatures construction is still pretty much on schedule.
According to CEO and owner of the Davis Long Term Care Group Chad Cloutier, the new building already has its foundation and frame up.
“The floor is actually radiant flooring, so you’ll see it covered and heated by generators; the rafters are close to being up, and the wall framing is up on both east and west wings,” Cloutier explained.
The new $6 million 40-bed facility is slated for completion around late summer, and construction is pretty much on track despite January’s harsh temperatures.
“I am amazed each and every day I talk to E.W. Littlefield [the company building the facility] and how committed they are, not only the company but their employees — to work in these conditions and making progress despite the cold,” Cloutier said, adding that completion of the building might be set back slightly because of the weather, but not much due to the contractor’s commitment. E.W. Littlefield and Sons, Inc. is based out of Hartland.
Cloutier also cited the dedication of Soderberg Construction of Caribou for keeping the project pretty close to its original timeline.
“I give a lot of credit to Soderberg Construction who, despite early winter conditions, were able to get the foundation in,” Cloutier said.
The Davis Long Term Care Group, based out of Rockland, currently runs the 40-bed Limestone Manor facility on Church Street in Limestone and 10 other long-term care facilities across the state.
