HOULTON and PATTEN – Lois Ann Shorey, 58, died Feb. 1, 2013, in Houlton, with her stepmother at her side. She was born June 24, 1954, in Island Falls, the daughter of Lawrence and Beulah (Howard) Shorey.
She graduated from Branford High School and worked at Stop and Shop in Connecticut before moving to Maine, where she worked at Maine Trellis Co.
She is survived by her stepmother, Rena Shorey of Patten; a brother, Larry and Bonnie Shorey of Myrtle Beach, Fla.; one niece and nephew, Lisa and John; a great-niece and great-nephew, Katlin and Avery; four stepsiblings, Audrey Cochran of Washington state, Reinelle Robinson of Patten, Rick Robinson of Island Falls and Will Smith of Portland; several aunts and uncles; her close friend, Lourie Porter; and her caregivers at Harmony House and Green Valley, where she had many close friends.
Lois always had a good sense of humor and a smile for everyone.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, Patten, with the Rev. Keith Shorey officiating. Spring interment will be at Patten Cemetery.
