HOULTON — The Gentle Memorial Building was transformed into a Valentine’s Day paradise Friday evening for Houlton Elementary School’s fifth annual “Daughter Dance.”
More than 150 students and their “dates” attended this year’s event, which serves as a fundraiser for the school’s Parent-Teacher Organization.
While the majority of the youngsters opted to dance and run around on their own, there were a few daring dads who took to the dance floor to dance with their daughters to show off their moves. Houlton native Jake Ball of Caribou provided the music and light show for the evening and kept the youngsters (and parents) on the dance floor with such popular songs as “the Chicken Dance,” while also mixing in fast and slow dance songs.
