Caribou getting ‘the Boot’

A company with a long history of supporting outdoor recreation concludes its 100th anniversary in unique fashion, with ‘recreational vehicle’ taking on a whole new meaning as company personnel visit parts of Aroostook County in their very distinction L.L. Bean Bootmobile.

According to the company website, the business has “always had one foot in the outdoors,” with the original L.L. Bean boot designed to help people enjoy what nature has to offer. That’s also what the larger-than-life mobile replica is designed to do.
Friday, Feb. 22, the first stop will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Aroostook Youth Ski Festival in Caribou; from there it will be in Stockholm from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Snowy Mountain Trails.
