THE KISS — After a week of competition, Houlton Junior Senior High School students raised more than $600 for Dollars for Scholars through the “Kiss A Pig” contest.
The last day of the contest, the vote was tied between Dr. Mike Hannigan and Mr. Jason Anderson. A runoff was held and the final tally was close, but because, as a Yankees fan he had promised to wear a Red Sox cap if he had to kiss the pig, Doc Hannigan was the winner. He was a great sport and helped promote the fundraiser. Ben Henderson, owner of the young sow, Doc’s kissing partner, was gracious enough to bring the pig to the gym and help in the effort. Everyone involved seemed to enjoy the project.
