Disaster awareness, emergency preparedness

In today’s connected world, people stay informed about emergency situations around the globe, but are they prepared to meet a local emergency that could threaten their home or family?

Houlton/Hodgdon Adult Education, collaborating with preparedness planner Ken Hayes, is presenting a 4-part series of public seminars at the Houlton High School, Tuesdays from 6:30-8 p.m. starting March 12 and continuing to April 2.
Hayes will present information about local and global emergencies over the past 100 years and offers information about different levels of preparedness at all levels of society. This four-part series is an excellent opportunity for families to begin emergency planning together or a way for a club or a service group to initiate a community service project. The sessions will be made relevant by emergency response presenters from the local, county, and state levels.
There is no cost for these sessions but registration is encouraged. To register, call Adult Education at 521-3100 x5.
