Easton Bears congratulated on their big win

EASTON NEWS

by Debbie Smith

Congratulations to our Easton Bears for their win over Jonesport-Beals. We are so very proud of you all. You have shown such good sportsmanship and you are all such gentlemen. Our town is proud. Congratulations. Go Bears.

NHS clothing collection

The National Honor Society is having a final fling to collect clothing for Catholic Charities. Catholic Charities will sell the clothing and buy food and whatever else is needed. On March 2 students with the NHS will be coming around to your house to pick up clothing if you have anything you want to donate. If you would like these students to pick up your items of clothing call the school at 488-7702 and leave your name and address. There will also be a vehicle in the high school parking lot that day and you may drop off your items if that is more convenient for you. Thank you so much for your help.

Seniors meet

The Easton Senior Happy Days Club met on Feb. 14 with 13 members and one guest. Mr. Steve Farnham, the executive director of the Aroostook Agency on Aging was the speaker. He had a Power-Point presentation of the many scams that are going on in the area that affect the seniors. He briefed participants on how easy it is to get involved and lose your life savings to someone who is just befriending you to steal from you. Always be aware that if it sound too good to be true, it probably is not true. The next meeting will be on Feb. 28. It will be a breakfast brunch. Easton seniors are invited to attend and bring a friend.

Sympathy

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Yoder family. Roman Yoder, 22, was killed in a road accident last week. Our prayers will be with you.

Birthday celebration

Tony Brown will celebrate his 22nd birthday with family on Sunday, then he will be leaving March 12 to begin basic training at Lackland Air Force Base.

Traveler’s safe return

Mickey Brown traveled to Nevada this week, missing out on a huge snowstorm at home. He has returned back home now.
