CARIBOU — The Pre-Teen Miss Caribou, Junior Miss Caribou and Miss Teen Caribou pageants will take place on Saturday, March 16, at 7 p.m. at the Caribou Performing Arts Center. The theme for this year’s pageant is “Grecian Goddess.” These pageants are preliminary pageants for the Potato Blossom contests to be held in July concurrent with the Potato Blossom Festival.
The evening will begin with a dance number featuring this year’s contestants and 2012 Pre-Teen Miss Caribou Mariah Mink, 2012 Junior Miss Caribou Kelsey Kiehn and 2012 Miss Teen Caribou Victoria Keaton. The contestants will then compete in the physical fitness, talent and gown categories.
Pre-Teen contestants are MacKenna Libby Smith, daughter of Whitney and Katie Smith; Peyton Grace Lindsey, daughter of Bryant and Brandy Lindsey; and Taylor Paddleford, daughter of Michael and Lorie Paddleford. For their talent, Smith will perform a dance, Lindsey will perform a vocal selection, and Paddleford will perform a monologue.
Contestants running for Junior Miss Caribou are Olivia Picard, daughter of Bryan and Carla Picard; Samantha Irene Fortin, daughter of Robin and Robert Fortin; Sheridan Mae Blackstone, daughter of Sheri and Dan Blackstone; and Alexis Guillemette, daughter of Patti Ramano and Ron Guillemette. For their talent, Picard will play a trumpet selection, Fortin will play a clarinet piece, Blackstone will perform a self-choreographed lyrical dance, and Guillemette will perform a vocal selection.
Miss Teen Caribou contestants are Taitem Mai Lindsey, daughter of Bryant and Brandy Lindsey; Kristen Diane Haley, daughter of Spencer and Heather Maynard and Angela Divine; and Karina Patterson, daughter of Kim and Steve Patterson. For their talent, Lindsey will perform a piano selection, Haley will play the violin, and Patterson will perform a vocal selection.
Special entertainment will be provided by Kiehn, Mink and Keaton.
Admission to the pageant is $7 per person. Tickets can be purchased from any contestant, at the Caribou High School, or at the door.
