Helping us to help you when reporting a crime
Be prepared; keep the phone number of the Police or Sheriff by your telephone. Remain calm, avoid taking any risk, and keep away from the crime scene. When calling you will be asked for your name, address, and telephone number. This information
is requested in case additional contact with you becomes necessary. “You can remain ANONYNOUS”, if you wish.
The following information is most important:
• Tell what happened
• Time and Place
• Description of suspects, vehicles, etc.
• Description in which they may have fled
• Explain additional details, or circumstances you feel are important.
• Remain on the telephone until you are certain that Law Enforcement has all the necessary information.
• Remember with your help, Law Enforcement can be more effective in protecting the rights of all citizens.
