Annual observance of World Day of Prayer

The annual observance of the World Day of Prayer was held at The Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal) on Friday morning, March 1. A coffee hour in Watson Hall preceded the event. The service this year featured the country of France, and the women of France prepared the program. At the beginning of the

service Sharon Chase gave an overview of the country including its geography, economic and cultural life.
The offering from the service goes to the World Day of Prayer organization for distribution to worthy projects throughout the world.
The World Day of Prayer is an ecumenical service that is planned and hosted by the Southern Aroostook Ministerial Association whose members are the Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal), First Baptist Church of Houlton, Military Street Baptist Church, Houlton United Methodist Church, Hodgdon United Methodist Church, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Religious Society of Friends (Quaker), The Salvation Army, the Congregational Church (U.C.C), and the Unitarian Church.
Next year the Military Street Baptist Church of Houlton will host this annual service. Everyone is welcome to attend and share in the prayers, the music, and the fellowship.
