ASHLAND – Ada O. McNamara Tucker, 89, went to be with her Lord on March 15, 2013. Angels watched over her as her family said their last good-bye. Ada was born in Masardis on July 27, 1923, the daughter of Ruth Robinson and John McNamara.
Ada married Reginald Tucker and they were together for 55 years. Reg was the love of her life. He predeceased her in 2005. Ada retired from the Maine Forestry Service and the Allagash Waterway as a radio operator and a weather tracker. She also worked for New Brunswick Power, on flood control.
Ada loved living at her sons’ home at Horse Brook. She thought there was no place more beautiful. She was known for her kind and loving ways. Her home was always open to anyone who happened to stop by for a cup of coffee or a quick meal. Ada also had a strong faith in her God and tried to find time to read her bible daily.
Ada is survived by one daughter, Nada and her husband, Stephen Weiksner of Columbia, PA; four sons, Jack and his wife, Rose of Las Vegas, NV, Reginald and his wife, Brandy of Black Diamond, WA, Charles Tucker and his friend, Rita Morgan of Ashland, ME, and John Tucker of Ashland, ME; one son-in-law, Eugene Cramer of Lee, ME; two brothers, John and Phillip McNamara both of Connecticut; three sisters, June Tucker, Polly Lamb and Ruth Theriault. She also had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Ada was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Ann; a son, Allan Cramer; a grandson, Mark Cramer; a brother, Charles; and four sisters, Laura Morin, Ann Prue, Elizabeth Lenfest and Annette Carney.
A special thank you to Ada’s caregivers at the Presque Isle Nursing Home for their many acts of kindness and loving care over the many years she was there. An extra thank you to her grandson, Chuck, and Liesha and Debbie for helping the angels take another angel home.
