Our book this week by Susan Ramsay Hoguet, “Maine ABC”, is surely written by a Down-Easter. Wonderful to read aloud to 2-5 year-olds and probably first-graders as well, as they love to think of similarly sounding words — but this book has decidedly coastal images. Rhyming, Mt. Katahdin, moose, and chickadees, but yawl?
Dory? Whales? However, as always we will learn new words every day — so enjoy! Perhaps thinking of familiar images in Aroostook! ( The “z” is especially noteworthy.)
