    Hersey, Norville E., 81, March 20, 2013.  Interment with military honors at Jewell Cemetery will be announced in the late spring.  Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton.

    American Flag ColorPT Norville HerseyLITTLETON – Norville Hersey, 81, passed away on March 20, 2013, at his home. He was born on August 1, 1931, at Monticello, the son of Clarence and Florence (Peterson) Hersey.
    A Korean War veteran, Norville served honorably from 1952 to 1954 in the U.S. Army and received the Presidential Unit Citation award. Upon returning, he married Lois Burtt, the love of his life, and moved to Connecticut where they eventually had four sons. He landed a machinist job at Pratt & Whitney United Technologies and worked there 36 years to support his family. When he retired, they relocated near his hometown in Littleton, Maine. Norville, “Sam”, was an avid golfer and a member of the Houlton Community Golf Club. He enjoyed golfing with his regular partners: Newell, Bob, Matt, Max, Frank and other friends and family.
    Norville is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 57 years, Lois; four sons, Stephen N. Hersey of Mystic, CT, Allison C. Hersey and his wife, Patricia, of Columbia, MD, Terry S. Hersey and his wife, Roberta, of Easthampton, MA and Glenn W. Hersey and his wife, Kimberley, of Turners Falls, MA; nine grand-children, Kayte, Jillian, Jennifer, Garrison, Chris, Jason, Scott, Shannon and Melissa; two great-grand-children, Natalie and Tyler; two brothers, Douglas Hersey of Monticello and Phillip Hersey of Littleton; three sisters, Carole McKenney of Monticello, Iris Woodward and her husband, George, of Beals Island, Louise Corey of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
    He was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and Newell Hersey and one sister, Geraldine (Hersey) Graham.
    Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. with Pastor George Woodward officiating. Interment with military honors at Jewell Cemetery will be announced in the late spring.
