Maple syrup operation offers open house days

As the days warm and the snow melts, the sap from the maple tree flows. This springtime weather begins a busy season for maple syrup producers. Since the 1980s, Paul and Donna Cushman have been making maple syrup for their family, thanks to a kind neighbor who allowed them to tap his maple grove.  This year the Cushman family have expanded their operation to sell commercially. All who appreciate natural foods will love the sweetness and good nutrition found in maple products.

Sunny Crest Maple Farms is located at 334 Main Street on Route 171 in Wytopitlock. The public is invited to attend an open house from 1-5 p.m. on March 30 and April 6.
“Come visit our sugar shack and see for yourself how maple syrup is made,” said Paul Cushman. Watching the sap turn into syrup in the evaporator will be fascinating to all.”
Maple treats such as taffy on snow will be available for sampling. Maple products and confections will be sold.
