PRESQUE ISLE — U.S. Cellular continues to invest in its network with a new cell site in Presque Isle. The site will increase U.S. Cellular’s coverage in the downtown Presque Isle area and is one of more than 350 sites U.S. Cellular has built across the state.
“We want our customers to have a great experience every time they use their devices, and this new cell site will help customers stay connected to friends, family and the information they need,” said Matt Kasper, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in New England. “At U.S. Cellular we know your phone simplifies and enhances your life, so we provide cutting-edge devices and a high-speed nationwide network that has the highest call quality and network satisfaction of any national carrier.”
In addition to the new tower, U.S. Cellular customers have access to 4G LTE speeds in Presque Isle, the first 4G LTE network in the area. Customers enjoy faster web browsing and quick app downloads with 4G LTE speeds that are up to 10 times faster than 3G and similar to a cable Internet connection. 4G LTE speeds allow customers to begin watching a movie in seconds, open websites faster and download e-mails more quickly on the company’s 4G LTE device lineup.
To select locations for new cell sites, U.S. Cellular has teams of system performance engineers who drive through the company’s network coverage area, sometimes hundreds of miles a day, to test the signal strength and call quality.
“The customer experience is a top priority for U.S. Cellular and we listen to customer feedback to help identify the communities that would benefit from another cell site,” said Kasper.
4G LTE service is provided through King Street Wireless, a partner of U.S. Cellular. LTE is a trademark of ETSI.
