Opal M. McKeen

MCKEEN, Opal M. (Ireland), 85, MARS HILL, April 18, 2013. Committal services will be held at Smith Cemetery in Bridgewater.

    MARS HILL – Opal M. McKeen passed away to be with her Lord April 18, 2013, at Mars Hill skilled unit. She was born in Westfield May 26, 1927, daughter of Carroll and Verna Ireland.
    She was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Mars Hill and previous member of the United Pentecostal Church in Westfield where she was a Sunday school teacher. She owned and operated McKeen’s Exxon in Bridgewater, worked as a gas attendant and said she hoped there would be no gas pumps in heaven.
    She was a loving and caring mother of two daughters, Laura Harvey and husband, Buz of Presque Isle, and Beverly Miller and husband, Stillman of Mars Hill; one sister, Donna Ireland who lived with her in Mars Hill. She had five grandchildren, Duane Harvey and wife, Debi-Jo of Scarborough, Heather Crouse and husband, Ed of Hermon, Ryan Miller and wife, Denise of Mars Hill, Erick Miller Martinez and wife, Emma of Mars Hill, and Emmanuel Miller Martinez of Pennsylvania; also seven great-grandchildren, Drew, Davis, Dilan, Jenna, Bryanne, Ryan and Rock; she also had a very dear and special sister-in-law, Joan McKeen; several cousins; one special and dedicated cousin, Ethel Condon with all her visits, cards and cooking.
    Opal was predeceased by her husband, Lewis McKeen.
    Committal services will be held at Smith Cemetery in Bridgewater. Those who wish may donate to the Presque Isle Animal Shelter.
